Trondheim, Norway · where the collection came from
I. THE FILM
"The rain will never ruin a day." By a guest.

The designer went to Norway. On a street in Trondheim somebody had strung a few hundred umbrellas between the buildings.

It was not raining. The umbrellas were not there for rain.

The sky is flat white. The cobbles are grey, the shopfronts are chalk, everybody is in black and navy. The only colour in the street is hanging twelve feet over their heads, backlit, glowing.

The whole country is the inspiration, not just the umbrellas. The light, the weather, the grey, and the colour people hang into it.

The only colour in the street is overhead

There are two kinds of umbrella in this story. One is black, you hold it, it keeps the weather off. The other is coloured, it hangs above the street, and it keeps nothing off anybody.

The collection came out of the second one.

THE PALETTE
Every colour in the collection is hanging over that street.

On September 11 that canopy goes up again, indoors, over the runway. In Norway the umbrellas are the only colour in a grey street. On the runway they turn white and the clothes are the only colour in the room.

The colour comes out of the umbrellas and into the clothes. That is the film.

II. THE BAR

We made a film for Pamella Roland in February. It is eight and a half minutes. Below is an 85 second cut from it.

February 2026 · Fall 2026 collection · 85 seconds, no sound
III. THE CAMERAS

Three cameras.

Tamara is on a gimbal, roaming, staying with the designer. That leaves two.

BTripod, locked, end of runwayDuring the show, the models.
CRoaming. Gimbal or tripodBefore the show, the build and the room. During the show, the audience, the crowd and the models.

Most of the day happens before the show. The venue going up, the scenics, the space, the models getting ready, testimonials, the making of it. That footage is what ties the room in Chelsea back to the street in Norway.

The show itself is fifteen minutes.

We get in early to set the tripod. Other media will be taking positions in the runway room and there is no negotiating a spot once it fills.

During the show B does not move. C moves.
